COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is the third largest killer in America behind Cancer and Heart Disease, but hardly anyone talks about it. It affects 24 million people, doesn’t have a cure, and makes sufferers feel like they’re breathing through a straw.
Leonard Nimoy died of COPD in 2015, and devoted the last year of his life to raising awareness for the disease. For World COPD Day 2016, we worked with some of his celebrity friends and the internet at large to help complete Leonard's final mission: raising awareness for COPD.
We received user generated content from dozens of influencers (many unpaid) and hundreds of fans, receiving 9MM impressions at launch and pushing COPD to trending status online.
